Ladies for Charity

      President: Donna Tousignant

In May of 2012 we voted to refer to our group as Ladies For Charity as we are not affiliated with the national Ladies of Charity.  We meet the second Tuesday of each month except in January. We meet, pray, socialize, donate and enjoy delicious desserts.

The main activity of our group revolves around spring and fall parish wide rummage sales.  10% of sale proceeds go back to our parish and an additional donation is made to the St. Alphonsus Vincent DePaul fund. some proceeds of these large sales are dispersed to parishioners in need due to health situations or other family circumstances. Providing a large variety of clean clothes and housewares at a reasonable price is a service to our community and then items leftover from the rummage sale are donated to the local Quarter Store.

Other organizations we regularly contribute to include Women for Women, the Fellowship Cup, Christamore House, St. Judes, Carmelite Sisters, Sisters of St. Francis, Camp Courageous, Hope Haven, and the Ronald McDonald House.

We pay for postage to mail rosaries made by a group of parishioners. Also, we purchase meat for the Community Thanksgiving Meal. We assisted and financed several needy families in back to school shopping.
